Belarus Comes Alive!

Belarus recently hit the news because of the rioting that has occurred due to government corruption.  To understand the magnitude of the previous statement, one must know the basic structure of the government in the nation.  This can be done without detailed explanations of everything that happened to Belarus throughout its evolution and the nuances of its operations of its branches of government

Basic History

The country has always been in dispute over its territories and has simultaneously dealt with constant ongoing influences from Russia and its neighboring countries.  The government for the true Belarus people is not working for them in other words—and never has been.  To say that the previous and current periods of history have never had a stable government is not a farfetched thing to say.  Now, the people are rioting and calling for justice because of a rigged vote by President Alexander Lukashenko.  His sixth term was recently confirmed in an eighty-percent to twenty-percent victory.  In 1994, the Constitution of Belarus allowed for two terms of presidency initially.  However, because of changes by lawmakers the term limit restrictions were eliminated.  This is the same year that Lukashenko entered public office.  There has been no other president since this time.  The elections, obviously, have been biased and bought in such an observable manner that there is no wonder why Balearians are angry and calling for change.

Variables Causing Positive Change for Belarus

Variables:  International media attention

                   Political correctness

                   Global disdain toward police brutality

Civil and externally based war does need to happen because the international media’s recent news concentrations and the previously mentioned political correctness that is apparent in our world.  Political correctness in foreign policies can be described as the use of authority from more established and wealthy nations that have leaders who want to appear righteous in their daily practices.  It is how many wars are prevented and started, as well as protocols within other public functions.  The word “war” is used because of the current events in Belarus.  Specifically, the rioting and police violence because of the upsurge against the government.  In an addition to this, the mediatization of Black Lives Matter movement and above-mentioned tolerance of political correctness will give the Balearians the opportunity for a much better living.

The recent uprisings of Balearians taking to the streets is another stand to forces that, unfortunately, goes beyond their declared borders.  Well-funded resources, that is.    Although, given the modern technologies that exist and the global protestations about police brutality, the Balearians’ timing for changing their lives for the better is much better than ever before.  The country is small enough to allow this to happen without significant external influence stopping any positive change too.  The mediatization of Black Lives Matter, and the death of George Floyd, coupled with the media focusing on blatant corruption recently, is a unique set of variables in this situation, that is.

Specifically, the country’s people can use the momentum to turn media attention toward them even more now because of the fast connectivity that is abundant in our world.  The Internet is a beautiful thing and other people in the world are going to help the Balearians regardless of who stands in the way because of the use of fast connectivity (Internet).  Internal and external non-stop calls for justice will allow the aforementioned well-funded resources that are backing the corrupted establishment in Belarus to answer to political correctness, which seems to be a significant deciding factor in other nation’s foreign policies when it comes to intervention these days.

For example, other nations will bother the nation’s (in this case it is Belarus) so-called leaders and its influencers so much for this enormous “social control-based screwup” that the people will be allowed to reign or the well-funded resources with suffer for not allowing the removal of Lukashenko and his associates.  Aid will be cutoff, reputations will be tarnished, and, most importantly, money and power will diminish.  So far, and gratefully, monies allocated for arming rebels has yet to occur.  The nice tap on the shoulder—diplomacy—to say that we are watching you and that this mess needs to be fixed should be enough to crumble the broken system of government in Belarus.  Political correctness runs the world. A for sure symbiosis between humans that is mighty.

Social Impacts

With the current state of the world it is hard to imagine that another genocide will occur because of the sociological and professional standards that are involved in government work.  The term “genocide” is used because the law enforcers is Belarus have been harming and killing people with firearms during protests.  At some point the nation will be infiltrated with foreign military threats if the behaviors continue.  This is not good for social cohesion as a whole or the systems that have been developed by humans, especially in wealthier nations.  The civilians in wealthier nations are looked up to because of their sociolegal success.  Not intervening will create an image of social stratification that infers that social class on a global level has a lot to do with assistance during troubled times.  Negative perceptions are forged and tend to spread aggression and hatred amongst people.

Another social impact lies in financial prosperity.  Capitalistic ventures will be hindered if the Balearian government does not change for the better.  Particularly, public resources and money will be used to quell the problem in Belarus.  Money that can be spent on making things better domestically and abroad will not develop as fast as they should because of this.  This recourse causes additional negative perceptions, but also stunts development in everything.  Loss of attachment to good government will produce confounding variables to be mismanaged.

American Relevance

Americans will especially feel disheartened because of the current state of its government if foreign military intervention shows its face.  Diplomacy may backfire as well because of President Trump’s almost nonexistent foreign affairs and poor relations with his staff and the public.  Since President Trump entered office, China has been the primary country touched on regarding foreign affairs.    This will spark more political division and media frenzies that are not conducive to solving problems and presenting facts that are of significant social discourse. President Trump’s ties to Eastern Europe will surely cause more problems in the country than anything good too.  If this issue is raised.  If so, Americans will, again, be shammed of their suggested democracy and be forced to deal with skepticism in an upcoming presidential election.  The relevance is unquestionable.

Conclusion

The timing of the Belarus situation and the mediatization of the global public dissent toward police brutality gives the people of the country a better chance to have their calls for justice answered. There are multiple other positive social impacts that will radiate if an authentic change in Balearian government occurs too.  For instance, a newly restructured government allows for a better ally, more commerce to ensue, and overall better relations between people.  There is an American relevance, and depending on how actions take place in the United States, the American democracy could further be destroyed.

Belarus can be heard.  And it impacts you.  What action should take place?
